I’m thrilled to share the news that my poem, “Rhapsody in Bone” — a bit of formal verse for the 21st century… — is featured at the wonderful web journal, BONED! I’m grateful to editor Nate Ragolia for giving my quirky piece inspired by an ancient Inuit myth such a lovely and fitting home.
“Rhapsody in Bone” appears in my new chapbook, This Being Done, available now from Finishing Line Press. Orders will ship in June 2018.
Quirky x 10!

I think of my metrical ability as the human equivalent of a stupid pet trick (a recurring segment on the late night T.V. show with David Letterman — which might be before your time, come to think of it).

I fight against mine. If i didn’t revise them out I’d just write out iamb after iamb.

I actually need to be deliberate about employing meter — it’s just that if I decide to do so, it’s like a flip switches. I agree that there’s definitely a time and place for it…

Was it specifically written for Boned?

Actually, it wasn’t. How’s that for luck?
