I’m excited to share this feature of my following poems: “Child’s Pose,” “Indigo Bunting,” Gateway,” and “(Cento) On the Way Back to Dreaming” which is now live at the splendorous journal, Resurrection Magazine!
I’m grateful to editors Ingrid M. Calderon-Collins and John Collins for their warmly enthusiastic response to and publication of these little soul-bundles…
Oh, what a joy to read these, Stephanie! My favourite was “Gateway” with “quiver by undulant quiver” and I also loved Child’s Pose and the repetition of “the door in your back”!❤️

Aww, thanks so much, Lynne! I think you’re right about the “joy” factor in this poems: Joy does infiltrate these accounts — despite the lifetime of social conditioning that tried to convince me of my unworthiness to experience it…

Marvelous, Stephanie! I’m a particular fan of that bunting, but on whole, this small collection demonstrates pleasingly your gift for the powerful sensory image, which brings to mind Amy Lowell of a century ago. Bravo!

Each of these was a facet of delight. I so relate to being “sick of managing”; this collection felt like the perfect antidote.

Thank you, Sun! When I submitted these four pieces together, I wasn’t necessarily consciously aware of my reasons for compiling these four, specifically. In hindsight, I would have to agree with you that “the antidote … to managing” is exactly their combined, alchemic effect… I’ve been immersed in some deep “retroactive introspection” for the past year+ and have come to realize that the “managing” (or, apparent failure ever entirely to do so) is likely due to a lifetime of masking and compensating for autism (turns out I didn’t just happen miraculously to give birth to two autistic children for no reason… and MIRACULOUS they are — and I get to take some credit for that, after all!).
Long story short, Miss Piggy never made it more than a few steps inside the door, and now I’m reclaiming my pterodactyls, to boot… ppl
